The first stage, the AFCAT 1 Written Test, will be held in February 2022. The AFCAT admit card for the written exam is now available on the AFCAT's official website.

AFCAT Phase 2: Interview with the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB)
- The Indian Air Force compiles a list of candidates who meet the AFCAT cutoff in the online written test. Those who apply for NCC Special Entry and Meteorology Branch will be called directly for AFSB testing.
- The AFSB Interview is divided into three stages.
- On the first day of the interview, an AFSB Interview Stage 1 Officer Intelligence Rating Test, as well as a Picture Perception and Discussion Test, will be scheduled.
- After qualifying for the stage 1 interview, candidates will be required to submit documents to ensure their eligibility for their positions.
- Candidates who do not qualify or do not meet the eligibility criteria will be returned.
Stage 2 of the AFSB Interview
- The psychological examination will take place on Day 1. (Afternoon).
- After the document check, the Group Tests and personality tests would begin for the next five days.
Stage 3 of the AFSB Interview
This stage will only be available to members of the Flying Branch. The Computerized Pilot Selection System (CPSS) test is required. Candidates who have previously failed the CPSS/PABT or who have been suspended from flying training at the Air Force Academy will not be eligible.
Qualified candidates must undergo a medical examination after passing the personality tests. During the selection process, candidates must be both mentally and physically fit. The conducting body will schedule a medical exam to examine the candidate's physical and medical health.
Final AFCAT Selection: Phase 4
- The final section will be based on the final merit list. The final AFCAT 1 merit list is expected to be released in January 2022. The list of recommended candidates will be determined solely on the basis of merit and the availability of vacancies in various branches of the AFCAT.
- The training will last approximately 74 weeks for Flying and Ground Duty (Technical) Branches and 52 weeks for Ground Duty (Non-technical) Branches. Candidates will be paid INR 56,100/- as AFCAT Salary during the training period.
- All candidates who pass the written exam will be invited to the interview round. Following that, candidates will be assigned to selection centres and interview dates.

Ques. Is tattooing permitted in the AFCAT 2022 exam?
Permanent tattoos on the candidates' bodies will be allowed only on the interface of the forearm, which is from the inside of the elbow to the wrist, and on the reverse side of the palm/back (dorsal) side of the hand. Other types of permanent tattoos are strictly prohibited. A permanent tattoo may result in the cancellation of a candidate's candidacy.
