Permanent Commission (PC) for Men: Candidates who join as PC officers will serve in their respective branches until they reach the age of superannuation, depending on their rank.
Men and Women's Short Service Commission (SSC): I Flying Branch (Men and Women) SSC Officers have a fourteen-year engagement period from the date of commissioning (Non extendable).
(ii) For Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) SSC Officers, the initial tenure would be ten years. A four-year extension may be granted based on service criteria, vacancy availability, willingness, suitability, and merit.

Selection Procedure for AFCAT 2022
The AFCAT online exam will be held at several test centres across India by the Indian Air Force. The AFCAT 1 2022 online exam will be held in February 2022.
The results of AFCAT 1 2022 will be released in April 2022, and candidates will be able to check their scores, cut-offs, and other information on the official website, afcat.cdac.in.

Marking Scheme for AFCAT 2022
For each accurate response, three points will be rewarded.
For each wrong answer, one mark will be deducted.
Unanswered questions receive zero points.
Wherever possible, questions will be based on the metric system of Weights and Measures. Candidates must attend in person for the Online AFCAT. Any scribe or other candidate will not be permitted to appear or assist in the exam under any circumstances. The Air Force has the authority to set qualifying marks in any or all of the examination subjects.
